Tripura Achieves 95% Success in ‘Lakhpati Didi’ Mission, CM Dr. Manik Saha Showcases IFC Boost
Tripura is nearing full success in the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ mission with 95% of women beneficiaries already achieving financial empowerment. CM Dr. Manik Saha highlights Integrated Farming Clusters as a major push for rural livelihoods.

Agartala | August 28, 2025 – Tripura has inched closer to achieving its ambitious target under the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ initiative, with Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha announcing that 95% of the goal has already been accomplished.
Speaking at the inaugural session of a National Workshop on Integrated Farming Clusters (IFC) for North Eastern states, Dr. Saha revealed that out of the 1.14 lakh targeted beneficiaries, as many as 1,08,281 women have already become ‘Lakhpati Didis’ – a milestone in rural women empowerment.
₹32 Crore Investment in Integrated Farming Clusters
The Chief Minister highlighted that 80 Integrated Farming Clusters have been launched across Tripura with an investment of ₹32 crore. These clusters aim to diversify income sources for small and marginal farmers while creating sustainable livelihoods.
Each cluster will link 250–300 farmers with Livelihood Service Centres (LSCs) that provide seeds, natural fertilizers, farming equipment, and marketing support. To strengthen rural handholding, dedicated community resource persons – Krishi Sakhis (agriculture), Pashu Sakhis (livestock), and Matsya Sakhis (fisheries) – are being deployed.
Women at the Heart of Tripura’s Growth
Tripura’s women are playing a pivotal role in this transformation. With 4.85 lakh women enrolled across 54,113 Self-Help Groups (SHGs), they are organized into 2,470 Village Organisations and 173 Cluster-Level Federations.
Financial support has been equally significant, with ₹1,677 crore in bank loans and ₹787 crore through Revolving and Community Investment Funds already disbursed to strengthen SHG activities.
These measures have helped women take up diverse ventures such as piggery, goatery, poultry, fisheries, micro-enterprises, and catering services – ensuring steady income and self-reliance.
Driving Modi’s “Ashtalakshmi” Vision: Lakhpati Didi Mission
Reaffirming Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of the North East as “Ashtalakshmi”, Dr. Saha said Tripura is prioritizing infrastructure, connectivity, and livelihood generation to unlock its full economic potential.
“Behind every success of the Lakhpati Didi Mission lies the determination of our SHG members, state support, and the spirit of community solidarity,” Dr. Saha emphasized.
