On April 23, 2025, the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) has unveiled its annual budget for the financial year 2025–26, totaling ₹475.83 crore. Although the projected spending stands slightly higher at ₹476.50 crore, creating a deficit of ₹72.02 lakh, the AMC remains confident in bridging this shortfall.
The budget was presented by AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder at a formal meeting held in the AMC conference room. While addressing the gathering, he highlighted that the budget is designed with the well-being of Agartala’s residents in mind.
“This budget focuses on the betterment of the people of Agartala. Even though there is a small deficit, we are confident that it will be managed through our internal revenue efforts and central government schemes,” said the Mayor.
The corporation plans to enhance revenue collection and explore new funding through various government programs to ensure that essential services are not affected.
