In a significant leap toward developing Tripura’s agricultural sector, Amarpur gets Agriculture Research cum Training Centre with the inauguration by Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Ratanlal Nath on Tuesday.

During the inaugural address, the minister highlighted the government’s commitment to sustainable agriculture and farmer empowerment, calling the centre a “hub of modern agricultural innovation.”

The research centre will introduce scientific methods to local farmers, focusing on enhancing soil fertility, crop yield, and modern cultivation practices. Agricultural scientists will work hands-on with farmers, guiding them at each step — from preparation to harvest, Minister said.

Minister Nath shared all the development in his social media post later. The training centre has all the modern technology such as computers with internet facility, projector and video conference facility to provide all knowledge about modern farming practices to farmers of Amarpur.

The inauguration event was graced by local MLA Ranjit Das from the 42-Amarpur Assembly Constituency and top officials from the Agriculture Department.

Centre now operational, officials foresee a notable rise in productivity and rural prosperity, especially in Amarpur and its surrounding regions.
