Agartala, September 28, 2025:
As Durga Puja celebrations approach, Tripura Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath assured that the state is fully prepared to provide 380 MW of electricity to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the festive days.
On Sunday, the minister inspected key offices including the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL), the State Load Dispatch Centre (SLDC), and the Tripura Power Transmission Limited (TPTL). The inspections were aimed at reviewing arrangements for smooth power distribution across the state.
24×7 Monitoring in Place
The minister informed that at the SLDC office, officials have been deployed round the clock to monitor demand and supply. Additional manpower has also been stationed during the Puja period.
“I have visited TPTL, SLDC and TSECL control rooms to check every arrangement. On Chaturthi, peak demand was 352.7 MW, while on Panchami it reached 351.7 MW. Despite this, we were able to supply electricity to Bangladesh (45 MW) and also sell surplus to the open market,” Ratan Lal Nath said.
He added that on Shasthi, due to rainfall, demand dipped to 323 MW, but even then, Tripura supplied 43 MW to Bangladesh and sold 28 MW in the market.
Tripura Power Reserve for Puja Days
For the main festive days of Saptami, Ashtami, and Navami, the government has kept 300 MW in reserve.
“We can easily supply 380 MW this year, compared to 352 MW last year. Every effort is being taken to ensure there is no shortage during Puja,” the minister assured.
Complaints Under Control
The Power Minister also visited the 1912 Control Room, where citizens register complaints. Out of 219 complaints received, nearly all were resolved, with only about 20 cases pending.
“I even spoke directly to one consumer through the 1912 system. I have checked every aspect, and power is fully under control. There is no issue,” Nath informed.
Key Takeaway
With extra reserves, 24×7 monitoring, and complaint redressal, Tripura’s power department has assured citizens that Durga Puja 2025 will see uninterrupted electricity across the state.
