No More Power Interruption, said Minister Ratanlal Nath: Tripura to Adopt Odisha Model

A new 33KV Substation has been inaugurated in presence of Power Minister Ratanlal Nath and Smt Antara Sarkar Deb, MLA Kamalasagar assembly constituency. Tripura to adopt Odisha model to supply steady power even in bad weather condition, said Minister Ratanlal Nath.

The newly built 33 KV substation situated at Shekerkote area under Kamala Sagar constituency.

While giving reference to the proposed plan of managing director, Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited, Minister told Tripura to adopt Odisha model soon. Tripura will study the technology used in Odisha to implement and strengthen the power lines of state. This will ensure uninterrupted power supply even during storm or bad weather condition, minister said.

Minister further in his speech stressed about importance of solar energy. Conventional power generation through gas or coal has limitation and the solar energy is the only alternative. This solar energy, also called clean energy, is generated from the sun. Concerted effort from the government has increased solar power capacity to 27 megawatt from 3 megawatt earlier.

Minister urged citizens to take advantage of the Pradhan Mantri Muft Vidyut Yojana, which offers subsidies and loans for installing solar panels at home. Not only does it help reduce bills, but households can also earn by generating surplus electricity.

The minister concluded by requesting residents to pay their power bills on time and join hands with the government in preventing power theft and reducing wastage.
